After nearly five years working in Medicare sales call centers, I saw firsthand how confusing — and sometimes dishonest — the industry could be. Hundreds of customers came to me frustrated by relentless calls, misleading information, and high-pressure tactics.
That's why I started Medicare Battle Buddy. In the military, a battle buddy has your back no matter what. That's the same commitment I bring to every person I work with. My goal is simple: give you the same honest advice I'd give my own family. My wife is on Medicare — I know exactly what it feels like to navigate this system from the inside.

You're not alone — these are the questions I hear most often.
When can I enroll in Medicare?
Most people enroll during their Initial Enrollment Period, which starts 3 months before their 65th birthday and ends 3 months after. Missing this window can result in late enrollment penalties, so timing matters.
What’s the difference between Medicare Supplement and Medicare Advantage?
Medicare Supplement (Medigap) works alongside Original Medicare to cover out-of-pocket costs. Medicare Advantage replaces Original Medicare with an all-in-one plan. The right choice depends on your health needs, budget, and lifestyle — I’ll help you figure out which fits best.
Do I need a Part D drug plan if I have Medicare Advantage?
Most Medicare Advantage plans already include prescription drug coverage. If yours doesn’t, you may want a standalone Part D plan. I’ll review your medications to find the most cost-effective option.
I have Medicaid — does that change my Medicare options?
Yes, and in a good way. If you have both Medicare and Medicaid (dual eligible), you may qualify for special plans with extra benefits and very low costs. This is an area I focus on.
Is your service really free?
Yes. I’m an independent broker, which means I’m paid by the insurance companies — not by you. My consultations are always free, and I have no incentive to steer you toward any particular plan.

I serve all of West Virginia and Southern Ohio. I’m based in the Kanawha Valley area but I’m happy to travel to meet with you in person wherever you are in my coverage area.
